40X experimental set trigger

I am looking for information on a prototype set trigger Remington was building for 40X use after "1968". It was built on a basic 40X/700 standard trigger housing. Any help appreciated.
Rumored to have had a write-up in "70's" PS ?? Unfortunately I gave my PS issues away when moving.

There was a problem in those days with Remington triggers.
You may be referring to the New 2 ounce trigger that they had.

Could if have been in Rifle magazine? They carried a lot of benchrest related items back then, including a series on Benchrest triggers. Believe the 3-4 articles (by Otteson) in that series were all three-lever designs though. Still, a good university library should have both magazines, esp. Rifle...

Or maybe in Otteson's boook?

No, not referring to the 2oz. This was a post set trigger with a reverse forward setting trigger lever all in a standard housing with a Hart style bottom..

I have all of Ottesons books and trigger info but nothing on a set trigger. As you note most is on 3 lever designs.

Back in the late 70's I was shooting at Perry, Jim Stekl of Remington was in the Remington booth and we got to talking about set triggers used in the IMR. (They didn't last but about a year 1960) Jim mentioned he had a couple of set triggers laying around in his drawer at work. At the time I thought he meant the old style, now I wonder if they were the newer style that I now search for info on.

I do remember the Canjar set that was available. It had a small lever to cock it on the trigger shoe.
They sears held quite well. You had to be careful on how close you got to the trigger though. I guess that's why Wally hart made his .
Jim Steckl would know one way or the other, He and Mike Walker tested all of the proto types
