Has anyone got one of these lathes? I need a review before I buy one. Like how deep a cut it will take, how are the controls stuff like that.

Do you mean...........

the g4003g? If so, I have no complaints about mine. I have had it set up since October, and just finished my second build. I had never ran a lathe before, so I don't have anything to reference to, but the lathe does everything I have needed it to do!

I'm very happy with mine. I'm not very experienced with a lathe but have muddled through and installed half a dozen barrels, several brakes, threaded some shotgun barrels for chokes, all of which seem to shoot straight. I typically don't take big cuts, prefering to sneak up on a wreck rather than hit it at full throttle. My 4003 is everything I had hoped for.

You might try a search for the G4003G. There was a lot of discussion on here about a year ago.

.I've had mine almost 1 year and it is a pleasure to use. I had never before used a lathe and I am now doing my 11th barrel w/o any problems other than the small ones created by me, not the lathe! I like the 4003g Grizzly lathe!

This is my 3rd year with my 4003G and I am still very happy with it.
I have no Idea how deep a cut it will make, gunsmithing work requires finesse not brute force.

On the subject of this lathe. What's the shortest barrel that can be run through the spindle?

....I can go as short as 20.5" as I use a spyder on the inboard side as well as outboard!
