4 feet of water

IF your rifles had been under 4 feet of water and the wood stocks have swollen so much you can't even remove the action screws-----What would you do?

Put tem somewhere they can dry gradually? Probably best to hang them by the trigger guard. Then as soon as you can get them out of the wood and oil them with something lasting like Remoil don't use wd40 except maybe short term. WD40 leaves a nasty film.

I have a friends collection left to her that I keep oiled with Remoil. About once a year keeps them in good shape. On the bolts, triggers and magazines use Remoil spray and wet them good enough inside to displace the water.

Here's what I would do
First take the actions out of the stocks and clean and oil all of the metal part.s
Then hang the wood stocks outside to dry. It will take quite a while drying things off.
see what happens, wood stock,s are always around new and used . The important thing is to prevent rust on the metal,

Had a house fire in 1981. Guns were rusted by the next am..

I since have used RIG applied liberally. Get those guns out of the stocks, dry the external metal and apply RIG asap..the bores need some cleaning and I suppose some RIG there also.
Stocks??? a real problem.
