Opinions on a Hass TM1P or a SMTCL BM850-T.
I plan on using it for Inletting, bolt fluting, barrel fluting and who knows what else will come along.
This is a big purchase for me & I really value your opinions.
Thanks

I STRONGLY recommend the HAAS. I own two of the TM1 4 axis machines and that is what I do all my fluting and inletting on. The HAAS rotary products work seamlessly with the HAAS control. You just can't beat it. I have a great deal of knowledge on these machines so feel free to contact me if you need the finer details.

The biggest problem I see with most newer machine tools is the safeties they are installing now. Thanks OSHA! Doing precision no-mistakes-allowed machine work, I like to be up close to my work piece. The newer machines stop the motion and shut down the spindle with the door open. The older HAAS machines allowed you to change a setting in the control to override this. Not the newer ones though. With my newer machines I wire in a handy toggle switch to fool the control into thinking the door is still shut.

I've known Joe Woosman from this forum for a number of years.... I'd take his advice to heart. I, personally, would spend my money based on his advice.

Thanks to those here that offered up advise I placed my order for a TM2P today.
