Assuming you have the fl die, what cartridge do you start with? Does this have to be modified before it goes in the die, or after?

Why not just use 6mmBR brass and neck it up to 30 caliber...
Forming it from full length 308 brass is going to give you really thick necks that require inside reaming and outside neck turning..then you will have minimal case capacity inside the case compared to 6 BR brass...

What is the intended use of the cartridge??? cast bullets or jacketed bullets?

.308x150

would be for jacketed bullets.
can one run the 6br through the .308X1.5 die? Trim?

Richard...did you buy a rifle chambered in .308x1.5"..??
If yes call Ron Hoehn and have him make some brass for you..it is evident that you do not have the tools or experience to do so..Save yourself some grief and have them made by someone that knows what they are doing..
Go to the home page of this website and choose "brass" from the selection on the left side of the screen and it will give you a list of suppliers of rifle brass and Ron Hoehn is listed there...

The easiest way would be to start with 7mmBR brass--providing it is still available.
I made a few 30BR rounds just to see what they would look like loaded with a 168 gr Sierra Match King bullet by chucking the bullet, pointed end down, in my drill press and pressing it into the case. The bullet made a nice tapered expanding button. Bullet and case were well lubed but I did have to wrap a piece of sandpaper around the base of the case for traction and to prevent scratches, and use pliers to twist the case free.
