What kind of results are you guys having with Benchmark and 165 gr bullets in the .308 Win.?

To fast

You need to move to a powder with a burn rate of Varget.

As a matter of fact Varget is most perfect for the .308 and 165's

I use 42.6 grs with mollied 168 SMKs with excellent accuracy, better than Varget in my rifle.

308 Load

I use 45g Varget 165g Sierra #2140 Rem91/2:cool: primer and tune by seating depth. Work your way up to this one as it works in my rifle but may be too hot for yours.

Well the load data shows that a max charge of varget and a max charge of benchmark is only 120 or fps difference in velocity with a 165 grain projectile. I have a new rifle and am trying new powders. A friend gave me a pound of benchmark and says that his rifle (also a .308) loves it with all weights up to 175 grains. He also says that the recoil is more of just a push than a punch. Varget definitely has the punch. So I appreciate all feedback from those who have used benchmark.

i have good results with my 308 using benchmark and 155 amaxs .i load mine a little hotter than what the manual says with no preasure signs in my rifle.the other 308 i used to have liked benchmark and 150 sierra bthp loaded just under max.

Don't need to move try 36.6gr HBM and work up as desired.
