Does anyone have any experience with this reamer? Is it highly bullet specific? I am looking to rebarrel and would like to be able to shoot 155gr-175gr match bullets as well as hunting bullets such as Accubonds and Barnes TTSX bullets.

Thanks

308 Reamers

PT&G sells dozens of different 308 reamers. There are 4 listed in their Chamber Print Book. The first is a SAAMI .308 Winchester. The big biggest difference is a .310 throat. The second is a Boots obermyer .308. The third is a 95 palma believe Alan Warner developed this reamer. The fourth is 150 Bisley, I beleive Mid is listed as the co- designer on this reamer. Most of the Match reamers have .3085" throats. Another area of concern is the webb. I see .308s with webs (.200" line) cut from .468"-.473". Since it is easier to take metal off than to replace it. I suggest you buy a reamer with the case specs you want in the web, shoulder, and neck. Have the reamer cust short in the throat and buy a 1.30 throating reamer. You then can custom cut your throats to what ever your load demands.
