I need some advice from you pros, I have a 300 Wby I'm going to send in to Gunwerks and have a Huskamaw long range scope put on it. I was going to purchase some 190 VLD ammo from Gunwerks but I worry about not being able to obtain loaded ammo in the future. I'm also thinking about using 200 grain nosler accubonds. Does anyone have experience with either or both bullets. Please advise.

nozler accubonds

As soon as I get a .338 rebarrelled I'll be loading Accubonds. I shot some factory ammo, Federal vital shocks tipped with Accubonds...3 in groups @ 200 yds. That could be from poor factory loads or alignment issues. Might be operator error. I'd be interested in someones experienced input also.

I developed a load for the .338, using...............

250gr. Nosler Partitions. At 100yds they would usually go into about an inch, the owner said he could get them all under a 25 centpiece, before the recoil started getting to him(3-4rds). At 200yds, It would usually group about 1-1/4 inches. It was the first .338 I worked on, and it WAS an experience....3 scopes, two kinds of brass, 3 different powders, 3 different primers, but, it'd shoot like a house afire when finished, probably worth about $2000  after all he has in it, and the way it shoots; for a factory gun, after all that was done the only thing he could have done better was to put a new barrel on it, I was pleasantly surprised. :) All told, almost 400rds were fired ;) HTH

300 wby

I have shot 180 Nosler partitions for twenty five years and liked them with great results. I switched to 180 Nosler accubonds and they shoot great as well. I was informed that the 200 grain accubonds would work better at long range. Has anyone tried the 200 grain accubonds?
