300 RUM rifle project pics

I built this rifle as a fun project, it shoots really well for a $79 A&B barrel from Midway. See pics.

The barrel was very straight, and the contour was left at 1.250" for 26.5 "

The coating is Duracoat epoxy. I used a detachable magazine magnum action.

The recoil isn't bad, since the rifle weighs 20 lbs, but the report is quite loud, the first shot knocked a painting off the wall in my house, while shooting from the deck.

The stock is by Bell and Carlson. It has a machined aluminum bedding block, that fits the action quite nicely.

Thanks Ben,

A nice looking thing indeed

Shoot better

And I forgot to mention, it comes with a decellerator pad.

The rifle is quite fun to shoot. The recoil is a long push.

I cannot imagine firing this round from a 6 lb rifle. If you didn't leave the bench bleeding, you'd at least be beaten up.

300 Rum

Looks great. How does it shoot? I have two Model 70"s in 300 RUM. Using Remington ammo they shoot just kike Remington claims with the Level I, II, & III ammo.

There's a target in the photo with 5 holes in it at 100 yards. I'd say it shoots 1/2" with IMR 7828 and 168 Sierra matchkings.
