I have some problems with my Remington 700 Police in 300 RUM caliber. Could someone suggest what would be the optimum load ..... what primers, brass length, bullet, C.O.L. and powder ....

I tried with Vihtavuori n560 (84gr), Lapua bullets 185 gr Scenar silver jacket and CCI magnum primers. Unfortunately I didnt get good result, so now Im in troubles a little bit.

Thanks for any suggestion.

Go big or go home: 210gr Bergers, 210gr Sierra or 208gr A-Max.

VV N560 and N570 should be in the correct range.

Police were next to me one day at the range with 300 RUM 700P with a brake. Load development in magnums will be rough without one. They were using 208gr A-Max with R25. They bragged about 1/10gr increment load development, then I saw their groups (fist-sized).

For magnums, I make 5 rounds from min to max in 1gr increments. When I find the best group, I'll go back to .3gr-.5gr increments around that load. From there I play with COL and primers. 215M and CCI 250 have been better performers than WLRM. I have some Rem 9.5M loaded up to compare, but haven't shot them.

I neck-size my magnum loads.
