I just picked up tactical rifle in this caliber and need some load info please. Here are some of the rifle specs to help out. Maners t-4 adj stock, Rem action Krieger MTU barrel,4 grove 1/10 twist. I cant find any load info in my books. I plan on shooting 168,200 Sierra MK, 208 A-MAX,and 210 Bergers. Here are the powders I have on hand that I know I can use for this ctg. H4831, IMR-7828, IMR-4350. Any help would be greatful - Thanks

I shot a very similar chambering -- I believe the only difference was 2-degrees less shoulder angle. The capacity of the case is between the .300 Weatherby and the .300 Win Mag, and closer to the Weatherby. You could start with (published) max loads for the Win Mag, or cut back a bit from published Weatherby data, & work up.

While all the powders you mention should work, I had best luck with Reloader 22. This back in the days when it was a bit slower, so Rel-25 might also be a good bet today. When I revisited the chambering in 2008, best for me was Vihta N-560. H4831 was a close third. A friend had good luck with IMR 7828 in a .300 Ackley, but can you still get it when you run out? 4350 will usually give very good accuracy, but at lower velocities in this big case.

Still, barrels vary. Just which powder/bullet combination yours prefers will be a matter of testing.

I believe Jay in Idaho shot a .300 Dakota, perhaps he'll post too.

300 Dakota

Load data is available in the following manuals. Barnes#2 and# 3, Nosler fifth edition (Did not check 6th edition), and also Hornady 7th edition.

My rifle is a change barrel on a Nesika V action, with a 7mm, 300, 330 Dakota. It has been a while since I shot the 300 (mine is a 12 twist), but as Charles E. mentioned my load is also RL-22 with a 180 Sirocco. I use H-1000in the 7, H4831 in the 330.

7828 is listed best in the Nosler with a 200 grn. no 210 info. Starting at 71grns up to 75 grns. The Barnes manual lists H-1000 for the 200 grn. starting at 75 up to 80 grns. Hornady does not list a favorite and jumps from 190 to a 220 grn bullet.

I hope this helps. Please try and find published data. Regards, Waverly

Thanks for the help guys. This should get me started
