Ryan,

When you say 300 Ackley are you describing a case based on an full length 300 H & H Magnum or something shorter?

Your best bet might be to contact the advise guys at the 800 number at Sierra Bullets. I have found them to be a great help.

If your talkin about a 300 H-H or Weatherby and not a 300 Winchester Magnum here is how I would go about it.
Using Norma,Weatherby,Hornady or RWS brass and a freebore from 0.165 - 0.360 and bullets weighing 185-220 grains start at 74 grains of RE25 and go up in 0.5 grain increments.
Gabe Neola shot the small heavygun group yesterday with his and was using 78 gr of RE25.I used 75.5 gr of RE25 in mine with a 210 Berger and got 1st in heavygun score. My barrel has a 0.200 freebore.
They seem to like 74-78 grains of RE25 with the bullets between 200-220 and a freebore from 0.165-0.230
