I will be using a Redding expander on new Lupua 6BR brass to bring it up to a 30 BR and will be using Redding S-Dies. What are the the best starting bushings to use? The barrel is a no-turn Burx.

bpratl....just curious...why did you opt for a "no neck turn"..?...the Lapua brass when opened up to 30 caliber is very thin, and will vary in wall thickness...

I don't think there can be a true"No Turn" .30Br chamber. When you expand the increased diameter of the neck gets into the shoulder material and creates a step. Where does the step go?? I think you had better plan on neck turning at least to minimum clean-up.

Mike,
My Grandson's hunting rifle is a no turn 30BR. We fireformed without a bullet and it hasn't given us a bit of trouble. He has hunted with it for about 10yrs.

when using Butch's fire forming method, you can use a "no turn" neck. I don't use that method, but know others that do, and their brass is really nice.

I too changed this year from .003 to .004 smaller bushing, and it seemed to help my groups.
