Ok has anybody ever shot cast bullets in there 30 BR looking for a load to use a 120gr bullet blooper loads are fine or a website that can help.

You might want to check out some 30-30 cast loads that are used in cast bullet competition. Just back it down about 4 or 5 grains, and adjust loads to desired velocity with a chronograph. You should be able to find some of the 30-30 cast data online.

Essentially, the 30BR is a .308 x 1.5" (38MM) or, the .308 Barnes - as a rule, the cast bullet fanatics use much heavier (180-200+ Gr.) bullets. Good shootin'! RG

30 BR cast bullet loads

In the July-August issue of "The Fouling Shot", which is the bi-monthly publication of the Cast Bullet Assoc., the match equipment lists show that more 30 BR shooters are using 27-30 gr. of Varget with bullets wt. from 150 to 200 gr. than anything else. One shooter using 102 gr. bullets is using 34 gr. H322 for 2750 fps. I've seen this shooter destroy the 10 ring on a CBA 100yd score target with this load.

Anyone having any interest in cast bullet shooting should check out the CBA web site. Membership is $17/year and is a bargain.

Are you going to be using these cast bullets in centerfire BR matches?

Probably not more than once, driving a cast bullet at anything like 3000 fps would lead foul a barrel beyond redemption in about 5 shots. On the other side, 30 cal 120 gr +/- bullets at 1600 fps would have all the wind bucking ability of a brick.

Guys I am not trying to be a world beater with this just trying to see if it would work.
