30-30 Winchester load?????

I hate to ask you guys hear but I am just going to have to.

I have in my hot little hands a CIL Model 830 30-30 in a bolt action which was made in the US. Since it has a magazine and the choice of bullets can be a lot more then the OLD standard for it, have any of you folks on the board played with different bullets for it?

I am looking for some load ideas for whitetails.

I tried the 150gr SMK and they shoot like hell on wheels jammed into the lands. It ends up a single shot but who cares as long as I can be close to almost shooting an eyeball out.

Been thinking 150gr Nosler BalTips for it?

My 14" contender will shoot MOA with H4895 and 130 Ball. tips.
 
Try some Sierra.....

.308 125gr. spitzers, drops 'em like dog-doo, right where you saw 'em, that's where you'll find 'em. (no $**t!!)
 
I loaded 100 rds of 110 gr hornady M1 Carbine bullets for my son-in-laws' Win '94 30-30. I put them down around 2,000 fps. SIL is not a shooter, but wanted to come deer hunting with us. I wanted to teach him to shoot with skill and confidence. (failed). Anyway, I was impressed with how well they shot and how much power they had. A good hunter could take deer with them,.. but why. Too much power is just right. Amen to the 125 gr.
