Sierra current manual list 9 powders suitable for the 110 gr bullet. Varget the fastest burner that has the least case volume but produces 3400 FPS. Then Re #19 that nearly fills the case also produces 3,400. Which of these is likely to produce best accuracy ? How is it these two powders with wide burning rate differences produce same velocity? As where heavier charges of powders( H380,H414 XMR 4350 IMR 4350) between these two powders( Varget and Re#19) burn rates produce lower velocities?

Which powder shoots best.

No one can answer that question with certainty because no one can predict how your barrel will hum with a certain charge or type of powder. You see it is a question of finding a favourable harmonic for your very individual rifle. Even chronographing your loads to find the smallest shot to shot variation does not always find the most accurate load because if the bullet leaves the muzzle on an unfavourable harmonic, even though shot to shot variation is small accuracy will still be cactus. The only way to get around this problem is to move your seating depth around till you find a favourable harmonic. In my opinion most people change their seating depth in too small an increment and waste a lot of components. I can usually get to where I want to be in about 4 moves each of 1/25", that is to say about twelve shots.:D As to why powders of similar burning rates seem to produce different velocity in reloading manuals is any bodies guess. Really the only thing to do is chrono. your loads in your own rifle. Most likely the speeds you obtain will be entirely different to the speeds obtained in the manual anyway as all rifles are individuals.
