243 brass to 308

I'm new to reloading and needed some help.

I was given some 243 win brass and was wanting to know if it's worth the trouble to resize for my 308? I didn't know if this will thin out the neck or work harden the case to much.

A couple of points:

#1- if this is/was a wicked custom tight-necked target rifle than I'd say yeahh, go for it. And I'd suggest that you BLOW the neck out instead of using a mandrel.

Here's a recent thread on this pertickler subject. http://www.benchrest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57355

#2- Only consider doing this sort of thing with virgin brass. GENERALLY it's not worth using pickup or free brass even for same chambering let alone trying to rework fireformed brass.

#3- You've got it right. If you're using a factory rifle you'll only do a lot of work to make too-thin necks and thinner necks will make for WORSE accuracy, not better.

Thanks Al,
I read the Thread with the pictures you posted.
Cool process.
It's not for a custom rifle so I will save the brass for later.
Thanks for the help.
