240 Cobra

A friend of mine just bought a 240 cobra and we have not been able to find any load data for it. If anyone here has any info. on this caliber it would be greatly appriciated.

A .240 Cobra is a necked up .220 Swift

If you start with .220 Swift loads you should be alright to start. This is correct in most instances of simply necking up a cartridge to a larger bore size. The Cobra is in the performance neighborhood of a 6x250.

easy ?

as with any caliber, you cant go wrong with starting at 90% case capacity and go from there.

Oh, yes, you certainly can go wrong!!!!!!!!!

Beware, any who read this: If you follow this "Rule of thumb" with a powder that is even moderately too fast for the cartridge, you WILL create dangerous or even catastrophic pressure levels!
