22lr twist rate for pistols

I have been looking for a second barrel for my S&W model 41. I found one barrel that looks to be nice, but it has what i believe to be an odd twist rate, it is an 1:8. My question is how will this work for standard velocity 22lr ammo? Has anyone any experience with such a twist rate in a pistol??
