.221 Viper XP100

Just picked up a nice REM XP100 that has been rebarreled with a stainless barrel chambered in .221 Viper 40deg neck (this is what the box of ammo says on the sticker). I cannot find any info on this caliber. Is this the same as .221 Akley? What are the advantages? Can it be rechambered to .223 easily ??

I'm pretty well versed on wildcats, but never heard of this one. Did the gun come with dies? And what does the ammo mic out at?

Sounds like an improved Fireball but without additional detail it's hard to say.

Do a chamber cast to see if there is a more common cartridge you can rechamber to.
