220 Russian?

I was wondering why more people don't shoot the 220 Russian? The part that confuses me is lapua makes 220 Russian cases, and hardly anyone make a die set for it, let alone I am willing to bet that 95% of the 220 Russian case are turned into some type of PPC configurement. Why doesn't Lapua just make PPC brass?

The part I don't understand is the Waldog. They take a 220 Russian blow it out to a short PPC, that has a similar case capacity to the 220 Russian, why not just leave well enough alone? Why would the 22 Waldog be better than the 220 Russian?

Is it possible to take a 22/250 reamer and hold it short, and make an off shoot of a 220 Russian? I know that people are using 22/250 dies cut off to form 22 Waldog. Could it be done and save of die cost?

The 220 Russian as is lets the case grow too much. The 220 Beggs version takes care of that problem. One of the reasons that we do not see more 22CF rifles is that it is harder to make a good small bore barrel and we still do not have the good variety of bullets like we do for the 6. Also you can not shot a 22 in sporter class.
