220 Beggs questions

I've been shooting benchrest for about a year now with my 30BR, and I love it. (competing with myself.) I was going to have a 222 rem built, but in my research of that cartridge I stumbled upon the 220 Beggs, and it really interested me. What intrigued me is the ease of brass prep and accuracy im seeing from the very little information I can find on it.

Questions:
Are there any pros/cons to the cartridge that i'm not seeing in the limited information on it? Anyone shooting it or have info on it that would be willing to share?
From the forums that I see, Gene hasn't been active on here since June. I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of a reamer for the 220 beggs. I know Hornady makes dies, and LE wilson has the seater. Id try digging deeper to contact Mr.Beggs, but I don't want to bother him. I see that PT&G has a 220 beggs II reamer but thats it.

Thanks fellas!

Gene is usually watching. Call Gene. I lost his number. It's on here somewhere. I am sure you are not going to bother him. I used to think that way. Then my friends started to go pass away. Feel bad about not calling them more. Shooters like to talk....
Make sure to get the latest version of the reamer. A friend gave me the reamer and dies. I found out later talking to Gene that I did not have the latest reamer. But, barrel had been cut. He has all the best load data. Give Gene a call.

i have nothing against gene not his cartridges, i have a 6 beggs, but with brass available in almost anything, i think a 22 ppc or a straight 220 russian.

I mean the 220 beggs basically is the 220 Russian, just less trimming due to the shoulder radius isn't it? If I can trim less, I'd pay more. Haha

Reamer print, here you go...

Hornady used to make a FL sizing busing die for this print. LE Wilson makes chamber type bullet seating dies.

My dad shoots a 220 beggs in score competition at 200yds and 100yd group matches sometimes and it is excellent...though sometimes hard to see the bullet holes. LT32 is his powder of choice and it shoots very well. There were some issues with clicking brass in the early iterations (maybe that was for the 6?), but I think Gene and Hornady have that ironed out now.
Great little round with excellent accuracy and very very little recoil.
