The rule on triggers says no mechanically assisted triggers. Does this mean that a single set trigger is illegal, or are they talking about a cable release?
I gots to know....

set triggers are legal, you are not allowed to use anything that releases the trigger for you.

No advantage

I see no advantage of a set trigger. Matter of fact, I see more vibration thru the scope, when I used on. The Mechanical Advantage most refoered to was Solenoid assisted triggers, that were battery activated.

No, it also reads "or electrically assisted triggers". Might be right about the set trigger vibrations, except my 6mm BR with a canjar set trigger will shoot in the teens, if the wind don't blow---except the 6BR weighs 13 lbs, and the sporter is 7.5 lbs. Got the factory trigger down to 10 oz, shoots Lapua M+ into a 38 cal hole at 50 yds, so maybe it's not broke, so........
