I have been trying to find a place to purchase an NRA 22 cal. target scoring guage, but no one I can find has them and they appear to be out of production. Does anyone know where I can get one, or what is being used in its place?

Champion Shooters Supply or Champions Choice.

Either champions Choice or Champions Shooters supply have both the plug type and the ring overlay types.

I just went to Champion Shooters and they have N/A for the .22 scoring plugs and Champion Choice has out of stock. Is there any where else to get these? It seems the RIG no longer makes them.

Champions Choice has .22 plugs with out magnifier in stock!!!!

Heck, you can just use an unfired .22 cartridge.

Just ask Joe Haller.....

Gordon . . .

Gordon (don't need no) Gauge.

Go to your room, and write: "I will not use a bullet to score targets".

Write that 100 times, or until you have writers cramp. Then come out of your room and tell me your are sorry.

If I've told you once, I've told you . . . well . . . ONCE . . . Not to use a bullet when scoring a target. That sort of thing can lead to . . . Well: NAME calling, and some day the secret will come out.

Training Wheels for target scorers

Once upon a time: Long time ago, some old Winter Texans down in the Rio Grande Valley were shooting rimfires for FUN. Then at a New Years Eve Party on the turn of a new Century, some at that party started talking about getting shooters from other clubs to shoot with them . . . "Hey, they did it in the old century with a thing called 'Postal Matches', We're in a new century now: We can do it on this thing called the "Internet".

So, the old Winter Texans went on the Internet and invited others to shoot with them. That first month they had 29 shooters from 6 different States. But there was a little problem. Some shooters did not know how to score a target. Others never saw a scoring gauge. So the Winter Texans drew up a graphic and named it: "How to Score". That name may have a different meaning to a teen-ager, but they figured "old guys" like themselves would catch on and figure out how to use a scoring gauge, rather than a BULLET.

There is a new gauge in town: One of the members of our club has a CNC machine shop and is making scoring gauges to NRA specs. Works better without the plastic magnifyer
