Looking for advice from anyone who has been competive shooting a 22-100.

Loads, case prep, bullets, powder, etc

I tried to start a blog on the subject...no takers there either...of course it could have been my BO... :)
Mike Ratigan says in his book that shooting one is like cheating...

Shortened .22-250 die to set the shoulder back. Then shortened .22 PPC die to headspace the case to the chamber. Trim to length with a Wilson case trimmer and .220 Russian case holder. Use a Harrel .22 PPC full length bushing die to load, Harrel will shorten to length with a couple of fired cases. Shortened Wilson seater to Seat the bullets. Pumkin neck turner to turn necks. The reamer I use has a .246" neck and I turn for .010" thick necks. I like the bullet that Cecil Tucker makes in the Rorschach dies he got from Guy Wilson before he passed away. Guy made one of the best .22 bullets. Cecil continues with them. I've used N133 or BLC in them with good results. I also have a .100 short bodied reamer with full length neck. Shortening the necks is the worst part of making a .100 short .22 PPC. The original way to move the shoulder back was to push the case up into a full length .22-250 die with a plunger mounted on the press ram instead of a shell holder and knock thecase out with a rod. That's about all there us to it. BLC is just about impossible to get anymore as it was packaged in the 60's. The powder is probably older than I am. I've won quite a few regional matches with the .100 short, but haven't had the major success with it that Mike Ratigan or Rex Reneau have had with it.
