We hope to begin qualifying for the 2012 World Postal Championships soon. Team USA will be limited to 9 members on 3 teams, so qualifying will be necessary. Building on the lessons learned from our previous qualifying, there will likely be some significant changes.

It has been proposed that a minimum of 3 matches of 9 targets will be required for a competitor to be granted a qualifying position. More matches and targets are allowable..

Scores and X counts will be averaged from all the targets submitted by a competitor. This average will represent that competitor's qualifying position.

Targets will NOT be scored at the match. Targets must be sent in and be unmolested. Targets will be scored by an independent source under international rules.

At the end of the qualifying period, the top 9 qualifying positions will be named as Team USA members. The Team USA members will decide how the 3 teams will be arranged.

The Team USA members will then shoot one additional match. The targets will be sent in again and independently scored. These final scores will be submitted to the 2012 World Postal Championships organizers.

This is another chance to compete against the best in the world without the travel.

Please note it is the new HV Class being 20 foot pound/27 Joules, 3 targets, outdoors at 25 meters to be shot at a match between March & November 2012 that is pre advised to the WRABF.

Yes, but there are some that will choose to shoot something less than 20 FPE, outdoors, to qualify.

Sure that is fine, im just making sure no one goes over as you guys have some pretty trick heavy air rifles over there, also it must be a 2 piece rest set up with a bag at the rear.

Bill,

No worries Mate! I'll keep and eye on things over here to make sure we play the game right. Two-Piece Rests, Under 20fpe, 15# weight limit, and all the rest. I've got your back!

Dave

The World Postal Championship will take place between March and November 2012. All WRABF members countries are welcome to submit teams for two seperate competitions - AIR RIFLE and RIMFIRE Benchrest.
It's some fun and keeps us shooting together. Remember you can enter individuals for this.

Information can be found on the WRABF website - http://www.wrabf.com/

Please consult you country delegate for further information - their information can be found on the WRABF website - http://www.wrabf.com/About WRABF.htm

This has been going since 2006 and is still free for shooters as we would like participation - we have gained sponsorship and donation from a number of sources over this period, including Lapua, Steyr, generosity of committee members, individuals in the US team, etc. If there are any would be sponsors out there we would love to hear from you.

Its getting good so far. Our thanks to both BRT Shooting Supplies and Safari Firearms in Australia for sponsoring the World Postal events. Killough Shooting Sports has also provided sponsorship for this event - http://www.wrabf.com/

Qualifying Rules

A complete set of qualifying rules will be available at usairriflebenchrest.com shortly.

A big, public thank you to the qualifying committee members who helped in putting these rules together.

If you could not travel to the World Championships and thought you could shoot scores that might win against the best in the world, this is your chance. First stop, competing against the best in the USA.

The event rules are on the WRABF website - so even if you miss out on the team, you can still shoot as individuals - click on the logo - Cheers, Carl

Will the testing of the gun's energy still be with the standard kodiak/barracuda pellet as was done at the worlds?
Thanks,
Dan

No, we will expect all competitors to have equipment that conforms to the rules. In this case, we would recommend shooters test with their preferred pellet.

I have no idea how this whole thing works, but i would love to partake

Can Anyone talk me through the workings?

Yeti your World Rep for South Africa is Nick Schoonwinkel you need to talk to him about South Africa teams and qualification. Link and rules are on www.wrabf.com
