2011 Catfish Shoot

The 2011 Catfish Shoot is history and the shooters are on their way home. We had a good turnout and some beautiful weather. It was breezy enough to keep the gnats out of your face, and to keep the shootin' interesting. Considering the conditions, some pretty good scores were shot. Thanks to Tommy Wood for his donation towards the cost of the plaques, we really missed him being at the match. Thanks to all who helped with the match proceedings; I couldn't have done it without you. Phil Deese was the big winner on Saturday, and Doc Bob Pekaar showed us how to shoot Unlimited today. Lew Beaudrot and Mickey Law both shot 250s in the wind today. Frank Aichelmann won his first match with a 249-14X in the 13.5 lb. on Saturday. Jared Davis shot a 249-12X today in UL-3; this was the FIRST match he's ever shot. Phil Deese received the Georgia IR 50/50 TOP GUN award for scoring 2976-153X total Agg. in the Ga. 3-GUN/UNLIMITED Meters/Yards. Congratulations to all the winners!

Leonard Thanks!

We all had a great time....as usual you ran a great match and the food was outstanding. The wind was bad enough to keep the gnats at bay both days!! I don't know if it's better to shoot in a hard wind with no gnats or a mild wind and fanning between shots!:confused:

Many thanks to Leonard and Richard for running a great and professionally run match; the food was great. It was a good learning experience for me. To my recollection the winds were back and forth between 11 and 2 o'clock with some gusts but if you were patient, your condition would come back. It was certainly worth the drive and I learned a lot about barrels and bore scopes from Phil and Ron Mc Cormick.

Kent.............................................. ..................

Had to compete against some great shooters all weekend. That two groove 18 twist rifle of mine loves hot weather and wind. Looks like your grandson is going to be a shooter like you before long......I've been watching his scores and he manages to hang in there with some of the best. I know your proud of him.
