Attached below is the detailed match report. Let me try to give context to Jack Neary's win. This year was the 28th Cactus Classic in the modern era. A list of the prior 27 winners reads like a "Who's Who" of benchrest. Hall of Fame members, USA World Team members, and world record holders. Names like Lowell Frei, Gary Ocock, Lester Bruno, Ed Watson, Rex Reneau, Tony Boyer, Charles Huckeba, and Lou Murdica are some of the past champions.
The previous 2-Gun record of .2240 was set in 1995 by two time Cactus champion Dennis Thornbury.
Jack easily broke this long-standing record with his .2059 2-Gun agg. Please keep in mind that Jack shot this new 2-gun record in very challenging conditions. If you have not read my previous reports on the Cactus, go back and take a look at the photos from Sunday.
Congrats to Jack and all the other 2010 Cactus Classic winners.
PS - Several other shooters also posted very nice 2-Gun aggs in the difficult conditions - great shooting all.
