Below are attached 4 proposed IBS 1k agenda items for anyone to download and have their club members sign.
I made the documents as PDF files for ease of downloading and to insure that the wording stays the same. Not everyone is going to like any or all items. That is OK, just items that were being talked about and deserve a vote, particularily now. By the way, written up before Christmas. Just got off my butt to post them.
Get as many signatures as you can from your club and then forward the signature sheets along with agenda item to the IBS long range committtee by 31 June. Mr. Lee Fisher is the chair this year and he is in the Iowa club.
It only takes 25 signatures to get the proposed agenda item before the voters at the winter meeting in Jan 09 in PA. There it must be voted on and approved by a majority of the LR members present in order to be adopted for a one year trial period. At the end of the one year, all IBS members will vote by ballot on keeping the trial agenda items.
In case you and others are serious about one or more of the items, you need to be at the Jan 09 meeting with one proxy vote to vote for your favorite item(s). Remember, at this meeting only LR members present can vote and the number are normally not large to begin with.
Quick summary is as follows for the agenda items.
1. Allow muzzle brakes on all HGs
2. Allow LGs with muzzle brakes to shoot in HG as long as they follow all other LG rules as far as rear bags etc. NOTE: This agenda item would be withdrawn at the meeting if agenda item one passes.
3. Hold the IBS 1k Nationals no later than the third weekend in September.
4. Change the LG course of fire to 10 shots.
Just make sure someone from every club downloads these and gets the signatures (VA and PA already covered).
