Hello ,

I am trying to learn all I can about the 20 - 223 - ( 20 Practical ).
Almost all the info I have found so far is about the actual re-sizing the .223 neck with the Redding dies , and a couple of loads that have been found to be very good .

Does anyone have any detailed accuracy reports they would post for 100 - 300 Yds ?

Look at most loads for 20TAC and start down a bit. R10X, 133, 8208 are all good choices. 40Vmax and 39 Noslers are hard to beat.
Unless your gonna hammer prariedogs in volume, you might consider the TAC because nothing comes close to factoryLapua brass.

The accuracy of a 20 Practical will depend on the accuracy of your rifle. I rarely shoot much paper with a dedicated prairie dog rifle other than an initial sight in. I put a Criterion 20 Prac barrel on a Savage J action last summer and took it to MT. It was more than adequate taking dogs at up to 300 yards with almost no misses. To be fair, this was a town that had never been shot and the dogs weren't spooky. Also there was virtually no wind, which is rare in those kind of situations. I was shooting Hornady 40gr Vmaxes over 24grs of LT 32. I suspect on paper with a 36x scope I would have had no problem consistently shooting 1/2 MOA at 100-300 yards, probably better at times.
