The #2 has a sliding type. The shank is cut out for a stud screw on the left side of the action that holds the extractor in place & allows it to move fore & aft. The plate part of the extractor has an extension on the bottom side that engages the breach block when it's rolled open to extract the cartridge. My two #2's have this type & the Frank DeHaas single shot book does not talk about any variations, but with these old guns, anything is possible.
