Well to say the least I'm not sure about this beast of a rifle and I'm hoping someone out there might.

I don't know anything about it in any way but will ask - Will it shoot a good group?

Well it came with some ammunition, dies, bullets and it appears the owner loaded them at the range while shooting by the contents of the box it came with. I will have to take a Unertl off one of my RangeMasters and find out if it might do well after decades of sitting.

That’s a pretty wild looking bolt. Interrupted thread locking lugs with a shell holder bolt face. Wichita had a little mini action with a shell holder bolt face when I first started shooting benchrest. Needless to say it wasn’t built for speed.

I'll ask this question if anybody knows - What's the purpose of the shell holder bolt face?

Wilbur,

The action has no ejection port.
That said, any other extractor would work, but for some reason way back then the shell holder was in vogue. I know of a large Weber UNL action that was a shell holder bolt.

L.E. Wilson made two UNL rifles with shell hold style, and he made several Rem. 722 bolts with them. I have one of them.

I never did hear the reason for that style extractor. Shooting fast had not yet evolved, so they worked back then.
