Kregg;
I saw a Remington-Rand 1911-A1 new in the cardboard shipping box with the second magazine sell for $1750.00 plus a 10% hammer fee(commission) in a major auction house sale(Julia,I think). It is just coming to light how few of these pistols in as issued condition remain. But this pistol was a condition rarity. If the pistol is used and fired or spent a lot of time under the seat of a pickup truck prices are less. I have seen clunkers sell for $4-500.00 in the last year. Condition is the whole thing. Regardless of the condition, anything less that a complete hi-end restoration of the pistol will add little to the value.
