Just want to see what others are using for score at 100-200 yds in 260. Not trying to load a barrel burner but w/ a 1:8 twist, would the 123 be better than the 107 SMK or 108 Scenar? I know all rifles are different but wondering if the lighter bullet for short range is better than a heavier one.

Seems like 100-200 yds can be the area bullets like to "go to sleep" so to speak but maybe not. I have had good groups w/ the 107 SMK but using H4895 they haven't been consistent....maybe a tad to fast on the burn. Thought of trying 4350 but haven't yet, any input appreciated.

A good stiff dose of Varget with 123 SMKs work really well in my 40-xb 260 in the 100-200 distances.:D

You ask what people are using for 100-200 score matches in their 260's I have been typing up equipment lists for 25 years and never seen a 260 at a score match. I take it this is the only rifle you have available for this task as a 260 would be a long ways down on my list of preferred chamberings for Score.

I must admit I shot my 270 once on a bet against a fellow with a 7mm mag and blew his doors off by the way.

You guessed it :)

However, it's far from factory and I can get some 1/4-3/8 groups regularly w/ the 107 off a bipod. Looking at the groups it's definately my technique as i'm new to this...just gettin' my feet wet so to speak. Stretching out to 200 yds and 3/8 won't get me all my X's :p until I get more trigger time. Mainly built for long range, just trying out the 200 yd for score...having fun anyway. ;)
