The Original PA 1000 Yard Benchrest Club in Williamsport, PA will be hosting the first match of its kind at its historic shooting range. The first and largest 1000 Yard Benchrest Club in the country will be holding a Father’s Day Fun shoot and cash prizes will be awarded. Entry is open to everyone.

Father’s Day Fun Shoot and 1000 Yard Scramble: Saturday June 18 2011

3 classes - HG, LG, and Factory (Light-Gun and Heavy-Gun per Williamsport rules and Factory class rifles must include: factory barrel and receiver and stock - rechamber, trigger, re-crown, brake etc is OK)

(Yes, factory class rules are difficult and will always upset someone...but this was the best we could come up with)


**50% payback to top 10% of shooters in each class; there will also be door prizes
**Free lunch for every paid shooter (hot dog and drink)
**Relays will be picked by shooters out of a hat (relays to be picked around 8am with the match to start about 9am)
**Pit crew will be provided, shooters need not pull pits
**Dinner will be provided for $7 if desired (Lasagna, salad etc), as well as other concessions available



ENTRY FEE: $75 per gun (each shooter may enter up to 1HG, 1LG and 1 factory)

Course of Fire:

Stage 1: 3-shot and 5-shot groups at 1000 yards

-shot in same sitting with a short break between
-12 shooters per relay, with points given for each group and score: 12 points for highest score, 1 point for lowest; 12 points for smallest group, 1 point for largest etc.
--Approx 18rds - max points = 48
**pit crew circles 1st 3 record holes on target, 2nd group shot on same target

Stage 2: 10 shot group at 1000 yards

--same scoring as stage 1
--approx 18rds - max points = 24

**cease fire to allow pit crew to set up clay birds (shooters stay set up on benches), stage 3 fired immediately following stage 2

Stage 3: Clay Birds at 1000 Yards

3 each: rabbit/skeet/mini clay birds for each shooter in 3x3 arrays
--2-3 minutes to break as many as you can (no shot limit)
--2pt per rabbit hit, 4pts per skeet hit, 6 points per mini
--Approx 10-20rds - max points = 36

Grand Finale – “Scrambled Eggs”
--Shot in the evening for best conditions
--top 12 scorers from EACH CLASS will move on to 1 final relay to shoot eggs on the bank at 1040yds.
--Factory class will shoot eggs at 600yds
-- 2 minute sighters on bank at skeet, then hang eggs, then 2 minutes to try and break egg
--No points for this stage, Cash prizes awarded for breaking the egg (separate from the 50% payback already mentioned)
--Approx 10-15rds

***after Scrambled Eggs, if time allows, other shooters can take a turn shooting at an egg for $5 per shooter (shooters that hit the egg will get a cash prize as well)

Total Round count approx 50-75rds

It has come to our attention just this Saturday that Reade Range is hosting a double-match this same weekend. This was not intentional, and we will do our best to avoid a schedule conflict next year.
