I have read and have been told by a few shooters now that 07 lot of N133 inst all the desirable. I acquired some at a very fair price so i intend to shoot it. Is this powder slower, faster inconsistent or what, compared to other lots? Not everyone has told me this powder is no good but more than not i have been told to get rid of it, or to stay away from it. I'm not going to do that, but my curiosity has finally gotten the best of me, so whats the scoop on this powder? thanks Fellas! Lee

"I acquired some at a very fair price so i intend to shoot it." Why don't you do that and then tell all of us whether it is slow, fast, good, bad or ugly. HA Ha!

Lee...my experience with the 07 N133...was a back breaker for me...I started out with a fresh new barrel in April that year my first 100 yard agg was a .204" I missed a .180" agg when my last target went into the high .2s...it made me wonder how I missed a condition that was working all morning...well I know the temperature was increasing but not by 20 degrees...anyway I couldn't get two consistent small groups as the months went by..I found myself shooting over the chronograph on a weekly basis...and I couldn't stay on top of the tune...I was losing confidence and doubted whether I had the right windflags (bought several types) and tried all kinds of gadgets...I had the barrel set back at 600 rounds...changed brass...changed bullets...then said to hell with it...I pulled the 6ppc barrel off and put on a Krieger 30BR barrel and actually started winning the groups shoots again...it wasn't until Jackie Schmidt wrote of his problems with the 07 N133...that I realized that may have been the root cause of my problems...the guy I sold my remaining 07 N133 to...never could get his rifle to agg consistently...
so, I recommend you try it with an open mind...but I think it may be a better lot for cool weather and really inconsistent when the temperatures get into the 80s and up..

Thanks ED
Its plenty cold out here that's for sure. I will try this powder in my little 22ppc and report back if it would ever warm up, even a little. Yes ED H, I have cabin fever and i haven't been able to do much shooting. I went out yesterday and it was so dam cold i was just wasting barrel life. i gained absolutely nothing by going. Like i said i have read and have been told each way about this powder. The fella i purchase it from claims he got his best accuracy with his 6ppc under 28gr and closer to 27gr. it will be interesting to see what i find in this little 22ppc. heck maybe this will be a go to powder for the little 22 .100 short?? Lee, Ya had to get somethin'
Did ya get rid of the "EEeerge" to shoot this week??? How about the weekend?
I got it bad. And I had to work the weekend.....
And I gots some new 6mm 68's to shoot........
Check the weather. Suopotta be 25 tommorrow.... Wow. It warmed up a bit.

I had to turn my powder measure out one whole turn to get the same weight when I switched from 07 to 08 133....So it is more dense than 08 form my findings

Just remember what works or does not work for one shooter does not mean it will be the same for the next... Whats funny I have 1/4 jug of 8 lbs 133 left and my 07 lot of 133 is a full jug. They measure the same on my electronic scales and they both shoot the same. I shot two targets with 03 and two with 07. POI was the same place, load was the same, bullet was the same, seating the same and all 4 groups were high ones to low two's. I'm sure there is some difference someplace but it shot good enough for this weekend warrior

Was reading this and decided to check my two 2lb jugs of N133 and sure enough both have a date of 1.22.07, oh well it shoots good enough for me.

FWIW,
I have not had any problems with several different lots of 07 133. In fact, I shot better last year than I have with earlier lots or the new wonder powder XBR. That goes for my 6PPC bag gun, rail gun and 220 Beggs(it really likes 25grs of the stuff, best powder I have used in it).
Best,
Dan Batko
