    NBRSA 1000yd Stock Question

JR - Besides for the obvious rule infraction to such a restriction, I myself see induced issues to placement of a rear bag in such away: - Restricting rear movement will almost always lead to increased rifle jump. - Restricting recoil can hurt both accuracy and tracking alignment, where...

I have never tried this method...have you?

Boyd - Welcome to LR methods..... many have been doing this for years. 15-ogive VLDs never worked well to the Jam method, and is why this and the similar "hash mark" methods have been popular in LR for years. To chase the lands equal to the rate of erosion, this rules the roost...

I have never tried this method...have you?

^^^ +1 Jam on 11 to 15-ogive high bc boat-tails, are totally at the mercy of neck tension, with inconsistent outcomes. Touch and/or zero hash marks are better ways - IME Alex did that video justice, and it will help a lot of people. My 2-Cents Donovan

    Growing the IBS

Like the idea.... and adding my own input: Bet an "online blog or magazine" would get 10-times the viewers and be far cheaper then an actual published magazine. Wish it wasn't so, but can't help but think published magazines do not reach out in today's world. Definitely not like they did years...

    IBS Rule change

I agree... another good reason why there should be separate rule books from SR to LR. Which is a long over due IBS issue. Seems like there more worried about changing long standing rests rules so they don't have to enforce rules. And worrying about start times and how many matches a range holds...

    IBS Rule change

Where and when did this come from? And for who, SR or LR? Never heard of that one one before, thinking maybe you made a typo.... Donovan

When does the case neck expand?

Had 5" or so thus far. But were having a heat wave (+32-F to 40's) so most of that has melted !.!.! The bass boats have been put to storage and the ice-houses brought out to hit the waters (ice) !.!.! But I'm not a fisherman, haven't did any in 30-years. Was always to busy building faster race...

When does the case neck expand?

Jerry - With strain gauges on the barrels I have seen initial bullet engagement pressures as low as 2500-psi from less then 1/2-thousandths of neck-tension, to upwards of +8000-psi from 005-thousandths neck tension (6Dasher's with 105 class bullets). As to neck clearance in my 6Dasher's...

    Fireforming 6 Dasher methods

If one is not overly concerned to the consistency from one formed case to the the next, about any method and process will work. If we are after consistent volumes, then we need to pay attention to process error, take procedure care, and pay close attention to blow dimensions. For instance, say...

    Benchrest Stock

Can't say for the McMillan, but my Shehane Tooley MBR (laminate) is 5/8" flat on the buttstock (3" flat on the fore-arm). I use the "double stitched" rear bags with it. Also as advised above, you should attend a 600/1000-BR match some time. Betting you will enjoy them, and every sanctioned...
