IR 50 50 vs RBA What's the Difference

My understanding is that RBA is an off shoot of iR50/50 last know sanctioned match information ends about 2012. RBA came about because of constant rule changes made by the original iR50/50 owner. rules are pretty much the same. here in Las Vegas, it was shot as a sanctioned match. our club has...

10x viii firing pin spring help

I do both measure and use a witness punch mark. I also use a witness punch mark for my barrels. once lined up I know they are back to where they were before. no need to worry about torque. Lee

10x viii firing pin spring help

The H&R M12 is pinned so you can't do any adjustment with the trigger. my work around to be able to change pin hit since there isn't any aftermarket springs to give different spring rates is to add weight to the pin via the cocking piece. I also learned the pin stop is at the cocking piece as...

10x viii firing pin spring help

IDK about how others do it but if you don't measure or put a witness mark as to where the trigger was located you can place it a few thousands off from where it was. It can make a difference, at least with an Anschutz 54 Lee

    RBA vs IR 50 50

Didn't realize the 10-ring difference were 0.025. here is a visual comparison. your numbers seem to be correct. I will say shooting the RBA and then shooting the ARA UL I had to tell myself to not worry about x count on the ARA and try to keep the shot inside the inner blue edge. at first it did...

    RBA vs IR 50 50

Pat, that is correct the 10 ring is a little smaller than the iR 50 same best edge scoring. Lee

    RBA vs IR 50 50

RBA 10 ring is a little smaller same best edge scoring. up until a couple months ago we shot that as our UL target. at the club I shoot RBA was a sanctioned match. I joined too late and never shot it as a sanctioned match. targets supply has dried up, so we have gone to the ARA UL I wish we...

How did I get there (my story)

Larry, I tried the o ring. but for me it felt like it I still was touching the side. with the ball bearing I feel just the tip and no contact on the side. but like Pedro said anything to be consistent is good. Lee

    I.B.S. Rimfire in 2024

This is very interesting. our club uses the IBS for Thrifty, factory and super factory similar to your custom class. unlimited we were using the old RBA and have just switched to the ARA UL in the past we had 100yd. matches ran alongside the CF Hunter class using the IBS 100yd hunter target...

How did I get there (my story)

Thank You, Pedro for explaining your thoughts on why shooting heads up is not something you would recommend. you made a good point about missing a condition because of going back to check aiming point/hold. in the beginning when I switched from looking through the scope and heads up that...

How did I get there (my story)

Hi Pedro, Great information on your experiences. could you elaborate on why you do not recommend shooting heads up or not looking through the scope. I found this to have helped with my reading conditions better. but most of all I feel more relaxed / calm and get into a better rhythm. Another...

How did I get there (my story)

Pedro, I believe that is correct DHH is ctc as it is being measure POI to POI and 5.6mm is what is used here in the US for bullet diameter. Lee

How did I get there (my story)

Thank you, Pedro, for explaining it was 30 shot. That is an incredible lot with only a 5.92mm vertical spread for 30 shots. I bought 3 cases of that lot based off that single 10 shot 11mm group. I watched the first 5 shots and it stayed within 6mm, why it grew to 11mm was in both the Lapua test...

How did I get there (my story)

Pedro, Is this for 30 shots or 10? several years ago, I was lucky to find a lot that did 11mm at Mesa, however it was only 10 shots. looking at this test report would this be a lot you would consider? Thanks, Lee

    Rimfire Coldbore issues....

Pedro, I believe you are correct. at least for me, in my case I misunderstood what Tim meant. if after tuning the barrel won't wait then it is time for a new one. I been very lucky, I been able to find the tune that will wait on all three of my rifles. Lee

    Rimfire Coldbore issues....

Ok, Tim I understand now what you are meaning. I see most of the time a high right about 1'o-clock from a fresh clean bore out of the case. but once fouled, no problem after that. Lee

    Rimfire Coldbore issues....

That could be the problem, the bore needs to be scrubbed. but I assumed you keep the bore clean. and that may be my mistake. but your description of what is happening is exactly what I see in an out of tuned rifle. Lee

    Rimfire Coldbore issues....

Tim, Unless I read it wrong OP is saying every shot after a few minutes wait is having that high left. so, it has lube/fouled, which means the rifle won't wait. every rifle I had that did that was a tuner not set right. a rifle that won't wait is out of tune from my experience. I believe there...

    Rimfire Coldbore issues....

In my experience when I see a shot go high or low left it is my tuner setting. to check this on your rifle take off the tuner and shoot it to see if it still does it. Lee
