    Zermatt Arms / Bighorn RimX

Well if I had to guess, this action mostly intended for the PRS/NRL crowd so it would make sense to use a magazine like the Bergara or look like it's related to the Vudoo. It drops in to fit any 700 style action and has a magazine styled like any other centerfire 700 style action such as Manners...

    Winchester 1892: new barrel options?

    That would be my move.

    SK flat nose

Shoots great for me at 100 meters. I use it for silhouette in my 2500X. I managed to grab a brick to try from Cathy at Good Shooting when she first got it.

How many sighters do you usually need ?

I have always needed more sighters than I took.

    And yet more on lead!

Hm. I may look at chemicals before I deal with the lapping grit. I can't imagine that being easy to do on a lever gun considering I can't get a rod guide on the breech end. While accuracy isn't necessarily a limiting factor in cowboy silhouette, I'd rather not lose anything from the rifle's...

    And yet more on lead!

Sort of in the same vein, I recently started shooting lever action silhouette and that involves copper jacketed bullets. Would this sort of process be helpful with making sure there isn't a tremendous amount of copper build up?

    Off topic Tin Can shooter

That's a dream of a rifle. I told Evan many times he was making my favorite when he was working on yours.

    Anschutz Ceramic Gun Coating?

For whatever it's worth, going to a dry ceramic lube was the best thing I've ever done for my bikes. No idea how that translates to rifles though. :p

    10/22's and Bench Rest

I've yet to shoot an ammo that wouldn't cycle and I only shoot subsonic match grade ammo.

    it's been a while

You already replied what I intended to. Why people try and measure groups simply by the hole in the paper when they can blatantly see contact on the paper all around that hole is beyond me. No....that paper discolored itself. It wasn't touched by the bullet.

    Scoring

    USBR Ring Size: 10 0.100" 9 0.300" 8 0.550" 7 0.850" 6 1.200" 5 1.600" 4 2.050" The largest group that would score 250 0X on the USBR target would be 0.224" + 0.100" = 0.324". A 2500's smallest group is 0.276". Outside of perfect targets, it's hard to translate an arbitrary score from one...

Where do all the old bench guns go?

I wonder the same pretty often. I was looking for a take off barrel not that long ago and was shocked that that they weren't readily available. I guess there are more tomato gardeners than I thought. :D

Right. Silver with fine crosshairs is the only one on sale.

    Leupold BR-36X vs Weaver T-36

Can't argue with this logic. For whatever it's worth, a new Weaver T-36 in silver with fine crosshairs is $319 shipped at MidwayUSA right now. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1477114296/weaver-t-series-rifle-scope-36x-40mm-adjustable-objective

That Brass/Walnut combo turned out really nice. I like the inlay on the barrel too. Nice and clean.

    New to BenchRest

You might want to lay out a budget of what you'd like to spend overall. This isn't a cheap game, but there are some affordable options. We just need to know what to suggest based on your funds!

    Rimfire Action Lock Times

The way I understand the priming compound in the case (which I could be entirely wrong) is that the igniting of the compound is largely friction based during the crushing of the rim. I can see the matchstrike comparison having merit, but I do think there has to be a balance with impact though...

    Rimfire Action Lock Times

I believe I've read the match strike comparison somewhere before. I'm sure they were your words and it makes a lot of sense to me. I don't know which or if any "tricks" have been made to my 40X. The metal as is when I bought it and the previous owner didn't know much about it. Some days I think...
