    Carbon Ring

I shoot a tight necked 243 Ackley Imp. and get the dreaded carbon ring...I brush a lightly spooled brush with steel wool turned soaked w/ bore solvent by hand in the throat area and it gets rid of it... however it always comes back... I'm shooting a warm load of AA 2700 and H-414

    22-6mm/22-243

Here's where I stand on it... I built a standard 22-250 with an 8 twist throated for the 75 grain A-maxes...Pros:does it shoot??? Yes very accurately...with bullets from 65-80 grain. cons are: bullets will not reliably expand on critters... my friend & gunsmith asked me why I was trying to push...

    Remington lvsf

I had one in 22-250.. shot about .5" All I did to it was adjust the trigger. I sold it to a neighbor friend of mine... already had 2 other 22-250's.. only gripe.. butt pad got gummy from cleaning. Enjoy,Sam

    22x47 Lapua ?

Maybe.. I reload a friends 204, but never used it on G-hogs.... I like some splat factor.... 20 br would get me out to about 350... The 22x47 or 6x47 has sparked my interest...just trying to find out about it...

    22x47 Lapua ?

Any body trying this yet??? And if so are you just setting them up for the heavier bullets? I wonder how it would behave with a 40-55 grain pills. I already have an 8 twist 22-250 luv it, but don't want to go there again.. Thought it would be cool to use the 22x47 to launch the lighter pills...

    223 to 22-250

I agree w/ Geyfox's response, I shoot a 1-8 twist standard 22-250... it's a Rem. 600 in a BR stock... It shoots bullets from 55 grains to 80 grains very well. The bolt swap on the Savages is easy, as is barrel removal & replacement... My next rifle will be a Savage for just the (versatility). Sam

    243 rem

I use a 70 grain Sierra Blitzking most of the time. Those and the Nosler 70 grainers work very well. The Hornady 75 V-max & the Sierra 80 grain bullet(the one for varminting, forgot the name & #) works well too. I shoot them out of my 243Ackley Improved with very good terminal performance. Hope...
