Shooting multiple rifles at a shoot

Greg I seem to remember once upon a time you made a valiant effort to completely clean up the wording of the IBS rulebook. I will not say it is an impossible task, but it seems to have eluded several attempts so far. At least now we have the ability to do a blanket update if we can find some...

Shooting multiple rifles at a shoot

Here is an example Mayberry Gun club (fictitios) schedules a LVFS/HVFS 100yd registered IBS Match, 19 HVFS rifles and 14 LVFS rifles show up 10 people are shooting two guns. LVFS is shot in the morning, HVFS in the afternoon. This is a situation covered by our rules. I was there the day it...

Shooting multiple rifles at a shoot

It means clubs may register a LVFS class and a HVFS class as two different classes. The rule is there but as I previously stated it pretty much kills your chances for Precision Rifleman points with the turnouts we get these days. This option has never been exercised that I recall. I do not...

Shooting multiple rifles at a shoot

IBS does does not get into how clubs choose to award Club prizes at an IBS match. You cannot win IBS awards except with the gun shot on the earlier relay. If you win the VFS Nationals with a LV shot on relay three and were 10th with a HV shot on 2nd relay you did not win you will not get the...

Shooting multiple rifles at a shoot

A person can shoot a LV and a HV in VFS . HOWEVER only the first gun shot counts for anything except. The second gun is shot for purpose of setting a record only. The same is true of VH and Hunter rifles , a person can shoot 4 different class rifles within the rules but only two count for...

    Question for score shooters?

Randy has reportedly stated if IBS passes this rule he will petition NBRSA to take same course. (2nd hand information admittedly)

    Question for score shooters?

At this exact time we are approaching another possible milestone in IBS Hunter Class equipment rules. The original IBS Hunter Class rules or at least the ones in 1982 when I started competing were 10 lb max weight, 2-1/4 max fore end width, 6x max scope, Conventional bedding (no glue in), Fully...

    Question for score shooters?

Randy Custom actions were first allowed in NBRSA for some period of time before IBS. After NBRSA ended reciprocity with IBS it was decided to allow NBRSA shooters to compete in IBS matches with their NBRSA legal rifles (custom actions). We had this situation for 1 year and then people came to...

2016 IBS Score Nationals Pine Tree Rifle Club NY

IBS Score 2 Gun It has now been added to the main body of the report. Thank you Pete for pointing out I had forgotten it. Although as Dave pointed out it was included in Ken Benton's excellent writeup. Dick

    Question for score shooters?

No, I agree with most things Randy says. But I never heard any question of what is custom vs factory in the discussion on allowing custom actions. On this I totally agree.

    Question for score shooters?

Everybody should shoot 250 at 100, that is the easy part you have to get 21 or 22x to be in the hunt. The reality is nothing will change on the target until the shooters get good enough to shoot 250- 25x all the time. in the last 5 years and around 500 matches only 6 people have shot 25x...

    Question for score shooters?

Very unfair to the Hunter class shooters. This class is declineing already, we do not want to do anything to harm it. I know most people here are VFS shooters but we have to be fair to the 6X people too.

2016 IBS Score Nationals Pine Tree Rifle Club NY

Bill You are 100% correct. I am assuming, and I could very well be in error, that the results sent to me by John C. are just the raw scores.

2016 IBS Score Nationals Pine Tree Rifle Club NY

Hillary Martinez and Larry Feusse took the early lead at Johnstown NY yesterday narrowly edging out a group of 11 shooters with 20 or more X's. Hillary and Larry were in a dead heat tie with 23X (despite what the scoring software shows. New Shooter Josh Strum was right up in there as well with...

Any BR in SW FL. (Naples area)?

SW Florida seems to have a Gun Store on every corner but ranges are a bit more difficult to locate. There have been no registered IBS matches within the state for a number of years. North Fla. 1000 currently holds registered matches up in GA. Dick

    new barrel on a 40x 222

Forget the moly, too many issues. I have been using Danzac (Tungsten Disulfide) for years in a 30 BR, in a .222 I have no experience. But don't do moly is my feeling.

Got to see someone shoot 25 X's for the first time!

Looks like 3 now, I just got unofficial 100yd results from Ashe County and it appears Dean Breeden shot 25x with a LV today. This is all unofficial until the Records Committee verifies the 25x.

Got to see someone shoot 25 X's for the first time!

There is nothing incomplete about the link, it is fine. The list however is updated once a year after I hear from the records committtee, usually in Janusry.
