    speer tnts

Have never shot TNT's But I remember shooting light Varmint Grenades out of my 700 .243 Youth model at a coyote about 100 yards. It was a frontal shot with it sitting down. Figured the reason for them was the energy would dissipate quickly filled with the powder whatever it is. WRONG That...

Recoil spring question...I know not gun related

Thanks guys for your input. Jackie, i was able to heat the spring and form the small loop on the end. Then heated again and tempered it in oil like you suggested. We will see how long it lasts. I had to form it a bit but worked the spring carefully by hand. Put the beast together, dumped...

Recoil spring question...I know not gun related

So the dilema. Partner 7000 chainsaw The recoil spring broke about 4" back from the end. Cannot find it anymore as the saw is old. It is a beast for a 70cc saw. For you guys that may know metal, do you think I can heat it to soften it to form a loop at the end? How about tempering after...

    LV 30br

Well i decided I need to build A 30 BR to compete against my buddies. Not fun shooting against them with a 6. I am converting my Bat SB from 6PPC to 30BR. To bring some weight up, I will leave the Bukys mount on the rifle and remove the locked scope which has a loose front lens and replace...

    We lost Gene Buckys Today!

Indeed sad to read Met Gene a few times in St.Louis. Fortunate enough to have a few short talks over a Molson Canadian. I know he brought a lot to the sport of Benchrest. He will truly be missed. Condolences to his entire family. This year has been trying on a lot of families. I wish the...

    Where is alinwa?

AL, a colorful character He is. Miss his replies and comments. Yes he is loud and boisterous but I am sure whatever he spoke of was never in a matter that would bring harm to one. I for one am grateful for some testing he had done with the PPC and heavies. I asked him a question...

    Crossfire

Thanks Mike In this case he did not try to conceal it. He did not realize what he had done in this case until I advised him. This happened many years ago, I cannot remember whT the refs decided. I think they let it go as we are a small group and he travelled a fair distance.

    Crossfire

Talking crossfires Scenario, You shoot your 5 shot group on a target that is on a empty bench next to your left. You get up and start to head to clean. The guy to your right asks where is your group? He says it is there. You say no it is not. He sits down and realizes he shot his group on...
