Most I shoot against are using either the DS or the 3L.

    Setting neck tension

I have used both, but I'm using A right now as my neck tension is high enough to need a custom mandrel to try B.

    Lapua 220 Russia brass

I've been using it since it became available. No complaints at all. You don't have to waste 100 primers and bullets, along with 1/2 pound of powder just to get them to resemble the cartridge they're supposed to be. Loads that produced clickers before, don't now, so I have no reason to go back.

Hopefully someone will step in and become match director and continue this event. I only live a little over 2hrs away, and we shoot here 3 times a year.

    30br powders

N130 has quite the following, especially with H4198 being nonexistent on the shelf. That's what I'm going to use in mine once the barrel is done.

Congratulations Lee! I was so mired in my own misery that I didn't even look to see who won. Quite the performance!

Tom Meredith has bedded all of my competition rifles. I'm just fortunate that he only lives 15 minutes from me.

    barrel tuners

My LV barrels all weigh around 5lbs with the tuner installed, and it weighs 4ozs, which is what most of the tuners I see being used weigh. I've been using them for a year, and they do change the harmonics of the barrel. I just question at this point if it's still worth putting one on because I...

    barrels

I don't know what the odds are that a barrel in tune can be thought of as a Hummer, but I can tell you that a rifle out of tune won't shoot worth a flip no matter who is shooting it.

The thread is about barrels, not shooters.

    barrels

Harmonics of the barrel have nothing to do with the shooters ability.

    barrels

This is where I believe that a tuner can help out. Once the best load is found, the tuner can be adjusted to get the barrel in the best harmonic frequency, and possibly make an average barrel have better characteristics.

    more barrel questions

I took a barrel off that had 1400 through it because it hasn't been shooting all that well and I'm going to the IBS Nationals in about a week. Even if I was able to get that other barrel shooting at top form, it would get over 300 rounds put on it shooting that event if it shot all 3 classes...

Build your prefect SR Group rifle

From what I've seen in the PPC, any load that is easily tuned is too wind sensitive to be competitive. 28.5grs shoots good most of the time, but will get steamrolled in a match.

    barrel length

My LV barrels weigh 5lbs at 21" long, and that's with a 4oz tuner on the end. Without the tuner it would be closer to 21 1/2". My newest Barrels are Bartlein, and 13.5 twists.

Build your prefect SR Group rifle

It would be like one I already have, with a scope change. BAT DS action, Louis Bengivenni Redwood/carbon stock, BnA trigger, Bartlien barrel. I also have one for LV with a Mataya stock. I would like to get the March scope with the LR reticle for them. The stock made by Ivan Piani is available as...

Build your perfect SR Score rifle

I would just take my HV rifle from last season, a BAT B in a TMBR stock, and put a 24" HV 30BR barrel on it with a tuner and shoot both score and group club matches with it. Being able to preload and shoot any local match are big plusses.
