    JDS Bolt Lube

At a match in 2011 JD Denoff (not sure how to spell last name) walked around one morning giving away hypos of bolt lube labeled "JDS Bolt Lube". It is a medium gray green color & of light viscosity that flows well in the cold. I've since found that it is a great lube for several other things...

Learned something on another forum today

this really happened with witnesses: At Riverbend one day, a new member was telling us that his stock rifle would shoot 1/4" groups all day long "as long as he did----". As proof, he showed us a few targets, none of which had groups smaller that an inch or two. Bill Dittman, now the club...

Learned something on another forum today

Years ago we all broke all our barrels in and, believe me, some shot worse than .3". New barrel day was right up there with root canals and prostrate exams.

News flash from the Korean 777 crash last week, this was actually broadcast on Fox News San Fransisco/Oakland. I almost puked laughing. The Korean pilots names were Sum Ting Wong! Wi Tu Lo! Ho Lee Fuk! Bang Ding Ow!

Thoughts on Roof design for covered line

If you want a shed roof, steel becomes very attractive because of pitch limitations. Steel roofs are commonly installed at a 1:12 pitch where the lower limit for shingles is 3:12. Also you don't install plywood decking. If you think it out, the entire framing process can become very simple and...

Thoughts on Roof design for covered line

Noticeable but not dramatic. Another advantage is in hard summer days in direct sun. The metal roof heats up to somewhere around 130+ degrees and then, without insulation below, acts as a passive radiator, cooking anyone below. It is much cooler on the range now, it's still Georgia but much better.

Thoughts on Roof design for covered line

A problem with steel roofs, as we found at Riverbend, is condensation. Especially in the fall and spring when the condensate freezes as frost on the bottom of the roof overnight, resulting in a rain the next morning. After putting up with it for years, we finally removed the roof panels, put...

Question for those who have collected on claims with the USPS?

I buy and sell gold coins on occasion. For transactions going into significant money, I always use registered & insured. Cost a few bucks more, takes a little longer but problems with registered are very rare because there is a custody chain. Anyone in charge of the package has to sign for it...

Any sign of 22 rimfire ammo for sale

Is the Remington target 22 shown on the rockammo site the same as the mil surplus Remington supplied through the CMP? I bought a case of the CPM stuff a while back and there is nothing on the white boxes except the name "Remington", the contract #, the lot # and ".22 LR SV".

Any sign of 22 rimfire ammo for sale

The wife and I just walked out and shot about 100 rounds of rimfire at my little pistol range. Even though I'm sitting on what may well be a lifetime supply of rimfire ammo for me, just the thought that I may not be able to replace them detracts from the enjoyment.

That is inside the original fortification at Fort Pickens, completed in 1834 to guard the entry into Pensacola Bay. The facility was continuously occupied and upgraded as a Coastal Defense site until the end of WWII. The photo of the gun (shield gun) with the barrel stretching out of the picture...

My entries into a local photo competition

Of the various internet boards that I've inhabited, br.com is the most adult and will probably weight your statements, and mine, on their merits. Buy if they, and you, will allow me this small example of spite, denigrating your perceived inferiors is the mark of an insecure person.

My entries into a local photo competition

In my extraordinarily humble opinion, this statement is more of an indictment of yourself than of my photography. Even if true, and it probably is, no person of refinement or character would have said it.
