    Varmint Hunters/Callers

Not sure if this qualifies for "Benchrest" but a lot of Benchshooters either still do or have come from varmint hunting. I understand if this thread gets deleted. I thought I could use your experience and only spend my money once. (I'm pretty good at spending it twice) I am in want of a new...

    Wayne Lapierre's (sp) speach

"I can't think of a more liberal group than the teachers" Thanks Francis. But... liberal or not...female or male....black or white... when given the chance we will protect our students. It would just be nice to, at least try and, level the playing field. I would vote in favor of training...

On the subject of ethics - -

Wilbur, I respectivley disagree. "Folks, at large, simply don't trust others. That's the reason the protest process exists in the first place." People make mistakes. At least at the ranges I am able to shoot at, it is not a matter of trust or distrust - it is a matter of 1 person scoring...

Forster carbide 3-in-1 case mouth cutter

Kind-of on the same topic. Wilson makes a trimming tool and a chamfering "reamer" - do they make a deburring tool? I like the wilson chamfering tool because it stops in the same spot each time - just wondering if they made a deburring tool that does the same thing? Thanks in advance.

    Cleaning Question

I have a Rem 788 chambered in a 22-250. I've been cleaning it for the past 5 days. Still getting dark blue on patches. The process is: 1. using wipe-out with accelerator before bed 2. patching out then using wipeout with accelerator before work 3. patching out then scrubbing with bronze...

    Email for Dwight Scott

Not meaning to hijack this thread - but what does a person look for to see if he/she needs to send their bolt to Mr. Scott? Anything to measure/listen for/ etc? Thanks in advance Stanley

    NBRSA Hunter Class Case Capacity

I heard that the Case Capacity did not pass at the NBRSA Hunter Nationals. However, I just got the latest edition of the NBRSA magazine and it mentioned that the Eastern Region is still trying to get the NBRSA to drop the case capacity. I am obviously missing something. I thought all the...

    NBRSA VFS Records. Curious

Just curious: how are records being handled for the VFS in the NBRSA? For example; if person A shot a 25-25x-10 WO in July and person B shot a 250-25x-14WO in Aug - do they both get credit for the WR or is it whoever has the highest at the end of the shooting year gets the record? Thanks in...

    Wind flag disasters

Not that too many people care...but..."It is compounds of Hg, including mercury chloride, that are highly toxic" It depends on which Mercury you're talking about. If it is Mercury I Chloride (commonly known as Calomel) - it is not very dangerous because it is insoluble. It is found in...

    Wind flag disasters

"It would be a nice project for Jason's students to see if they could measure this!" That would be a cool one. We kind-of did that. The windshield wiper effect (the time when the flag "settled in" minus the time when the flag first moved) results were virtually the same if we had daisies on or...

    Wind flag disasters

"The one issue that I have left to resolve is a way to have my pivot shafts perfectly vertical." A couple years ago - I had the students in my HS physics class do a project on wind flags (response time, repeatability, accuracy, stability, etc) We video taped everything from above the flag...

    Growing the IBS

I like the $ idea To solve the, "I think that when 80 % of the group is creating the pot for the 20% of the winners without any chance of ever achieving wood" problem, you could flight it - just like a golf tournament.

    Growing the IBS

Here is an easy/practical suggestion: Hold regular IBS/NBRSA matches. (I'm not sure on the rules here)- invite/advertise new shooters/factory rifles to compete alongside the custom guys, but not in the same class. Group or score doesn't matter. The registered IBS/NBRSA shooters would still...
