    Cleaning Scope Lens

I bought a used scope a couple years ago. Finally got around to using it. Everything works fine. The lens, however, is a disaster. I think it is the lens closest to the muzzle, but it might be inside the scope????. Little tiny black dots everywhere. Still clear enough to shoot, but...

    It's Not Density Altitude, but

Octopus, I have found, with the Begg's tuner, on the 30 BR I do not have to be as precise in my placement of the tuner as compared to the 6 ppc. Meaning, if my spreadsheet tells me 3 o'clock and I turn it anywhere between 2:00ish and 4:00ish = I'm still ok. I can not get away with that on my...

    Turning mandrel change

I want to make the turning mandrel on my K&M neck turner a tad smaller.(less diameter) Reason; it will then match up with my turning mandrel on my Sinclair turner - which means they would all would match up (.001 under) with my Sinclair expander. I would do the work on a mini-lathe. What...

    Chargemaster Test

Phil. Thanks for that information. I'm going to make one and try it - won't hurt anything. Our school's shop teacher also appreciates the info. Thank you. No where in my posts have I wrote that having an ES of .08 will show up better on paper than an ES of .17. But, if one can make 'better'...

    Chargemaster Test

Hi Keith. Hope things are going good for you. The scale on the Chargemaster read 34.9 - I pinched out some then the scale went to 34.8. I then took the pan and placed it in the lab scale. That reading was much lower than the other values. I do not remember what it was - but it was off far...

    Chargemaster Test

Very well stated Boyd. When all the dust settles, it all comes down to what you know and can make needed adjustments to; to make it work for you. I like the Chargemaster, but agree that it is a PITA at the range - which is why I load vials at home. The danger of that is, I can not change my...

    Chargemaster Test

Hi Rick. Previous to this little test, when the Chargemaster would overthrow (reading after beep and thrown number) I would simply pick out a pinch and throw it in the trash can until the desire amount was reached. During my test this happened, and so I did what I have always done. When I put...

    Chargemaster Test

My Chargemaster did not come with a "baffle"(sp). I notice on most throwers they have one. Can't be that hard to make.... That might do the same thing in a Chargemaster as it does on a thrower. Anybody here from RCBS? Am I even close to being on the right track? Stanley

    Chargemaster Test

I should have added the extreme spread to the initial sheet. The ES for 1/4 full was .1713 gr and the ES for 3/4 was .0848 gr. In only 10 throws each - that is a big difference. I'm going to make sure my hopper is 3/4 or more full when I fill up my vials for matches. Stanley

    Chargemaster Test

crap..sorry. Powder was 34.8 gr of H4198. That is my load in my 30BR. Yes, the extreme spread on the 3/4 was lower than the 1/4.

    Chargemaster Test

Hello all. Our school had some really good fortune lately. A local limestone company donated a Mettler Toledo AG104 lab scale to our school's science department. (Very much appreciated!) This scale was certified to .0001 grams in Jan of 2012. If that isn't cool enough, they called me to...

Thanks for the replies and info. Because of your info and others, I've narrowed my choices down to one of the newer FoxPros or the Primos Alpha Dog. The Alpha Dog is my leading choice but I'm worried about the batteries. Looks like it takes 11 AA batteries. Geez. That seems like a lot. SG -...

    IBS Annual Meeting Coming Up

Hi Mike. No, I will not be able to make the trip. I'm glad you're going though. Reason for the post was to, hopefully, get people thinking about the agenda items and give them time to think them over ahead of time. Have a safe trip. I look forward to hearing how it goes.
