    Elberton GC

Great Match It has been a while since I have been to Elbert County Gun Club, but this was a great, well run match. Congrats to Ron, Johnny, Jim and of course Dad - you beating me is starting to be a bad habit.....I'm just not sure if it's your habit or mine. Thanks to all the guys and gals at...

    Measuring bump

Thingy I agree with crb. I use the "thingy". I bump until i get a measurable difference - usually .001 using dial calipers. You have to kind of wiggle the case as you measure to get a good square fit - with a little practice it becomes pretty easy. You can do it with a stripped bolt ...but...

    help! computer problem with gunbroker.com

hmmmm i got in touch with technical service at comcast and they could not access the site either. (without using a proxy server) they are investigating on their end. Scott

    help! computer problem with gunbroker.com

Well? I am beginning to think comcast is doing it - maybe they don't like guns. I turned off my firewall and Mcafee - still won't access - only through a proxy server. Anybody else have Comcast as their ISP? Scott

    help! computer problem with gunbroker.com

Ok - i use firefox - comcast cable modem, wireless-G router. I cannot get gunbroker.com site to load. it starts and does the header and a couple of lines then just sits there. It says "transferring data from gunbroker.com" It just never goes beyond that - and that seems to be the only site...

    New target Paper

Wet targets Usually the problem with measuring wet targets has nothing to do with the paper. The black ring left by the bullet, gets washed off, leaving only a ragged hole with no defined "edge". It really becomes a "best guess" scenario as to the group size. But, I would venture to say that...

    Sendero 300 Rum load advice

Ouch Remove barrel - cut-off chamber - rechamber to 308 Win. Just kidding, kinda.... that's an awful lot of recoil to handle. At some point, as you get farther and farther away from cartridge efficiency, accuracy begins to suffer. Throw horrendous recoil on top of that and you get to the...

What shooting discipline is the truest test of marksmanship?

Ok here's mine Any shooting discipline most likely started with two guys see who was a better marksman with whatever equipment. Saturday - the kids (4) and I were on the back porch with a BB gun. As you can imagine it didn't take long to become a contest. I let the two little ones rest on the...

    River Bend Georgia Club Match

Like Dave says Dave is right - start with good basic equipment. A weaver T36 with fine crosshair is good. As far as a front rest, Caldwell is a cheap way to start - of course if you buy a sinclair with a windage top- you can use it for all your shooting for the rest of your life. It is a...

Riverbend results - The ol' man takes us to school!

11 shooters showed for today's club score match. Weather was great for August - not too windy, but at least interesting. We shoot 200 yards first because it gives us a chance before the swirling starts. Today was a great match - best this year I think. After 200 yards here is where things...

    River Bend Georgia Club Match

Riverbend David, thats sounds good - we are pretty much locked into the second Saturday of each month. Riverbend has a lot of different match venues (shotgun, pistol, highpower, cowboy, blackpowder, small bore etc) and getting the scheduled changed is near impossible. I have been to Dublin...

Plastic Cartridge Case Hold Open Clips

Friend crb Everyone knows that if the clips are made of the correct weight wire, and the amount of tension holding the lid back is "tuned" correctly; The clip can then be permanently removed, and the lid will "wait for me" to put all of the cases in the box. Of course the result will be water...

How do we increase membership today?

At the range today Wed. afternoon is not a busy time at the range but today I played hookie from work. Ran into a Dad and two teen boys shooting varmint rifles at the range. As they were finishing up, I was setting up. I walked over asked about the rifles and targets and told them they...
