Interesting day at the gun store

I stopped at a.... local LGS yesterday. They said they had 9mm on Monday and it was like the social media jungle drum lit up and within a half hour there was a line out the door waiting to buy. It was gone in a few hours. I did find some Federal factory 165 gr 300 win mag for a friend at $42 a...

    NRA Files for Bankruptcy

Amen amen to what you say. Anyone not a member has benefited by the successes of the NRA in preserving our rights as stipulated in the 2nd amendment. Shooters who are not members are simply sliding along on responsible gunowner coattails.

Is anyone else having trouble getting on Accurate Shooter?

Yes from time to time it just will not come up, while I can go to any of several other websites with no issue whatsoever. Other times it loads fine. Beyond me!

AR15.com just banned from the internet

I agree ...and right now its terrible...many popular rifles, shotguns and pistols are unobtanium as is most popular ammo types. Supply and demand has done what the politicians haven't been able to. Fully expect to see an executive order banning AR15s and high capacity mags of all types.

    A question for score shooters

Regarding your Q about a .243 shooting a wipeout at 300 yds, yes it can. the dot is .1875" however the only time a wipeout is going to be a consideration is if someone shoots a 250-25X, or has shot a 250-25X at 300!

AR15.com just banned from the internet

No SYMPATHY for those that do shoot one competitively or recreationally? What kind of an attitude is that toward a fellow firearm owner and shooter?

    Interesting new action from Savage

I have shot my Swiss K32 rifle a lot at military rifle matches. Its POI and function is dead on with GP11 ammo. I have reloaded for it before but the generous military chamber required a lot of case resizing and life was not that good. The one thing I noticed at first was my tendency to use...

    Primers vs Primers

Ken nice to see your input after what seems to have been a long absence. Have you been in the hinterlands of the globe for a bit? Hope you and the Madame are doing well. One of the big diffs between primers is the cup thickness. I have a 6BR load that works well with BR4s but will pierce one...

I didn't shoot any competitions last year, how are you handling the shortages?

Sharing some of one's stash says a lot about the person willing to do so and the shooter community in general. I sold some powder recently to a fellow in Tn and he stated he had no primers to speak of. I sold him 1K from my supply. I posted a WTB ad recently for some .30 cal RN or FN bullets...

Tim I've read some comments about nosler ballistic tips blowing up on game, not penetrating, etc. I've loaded them for my wife and me and for others for years and have never seen an instance where they didn't perform on deer size game as expected, just as you say. They are a deer bullet...

    Jim Carstensen

Ssi payments to us are paid from pre-tax contributions by the worker and his employer. So, the income tax has to be paid sometime. SSI never used to be taxed but all things change when the government needs more for obama phones, welfare, illegal alien aid, etc. The sad part is that once you...

New York diamond merchants used to use registered mail for that reason. Not sure if they still do. Wouldn't surprise me if the do.

I have tried 125 gr .30 cal TNTs on an IBS score target from my comp rifle. They didn't cut it although they would have done fine varmint hunting. For the money they are a pretty good bullet. Probably if I ogive sorted them they would do better, but I enjoy sending my excess funds to Randy...

    A hopeful sign?

On and off I have had problems with USPS shipping long guns. My last episode was 2 years ago when I wanted to ship a shotgun to a repair shop in NY. The lady behind the counter asked me what was in the package and I told her. She said you can't ship that USPS. I said yes I can..its a long gun...
