That they did, until the later 52E's, then they had a recessed crown.

    front rest or bipod ?

Invest in a rest If you want to be serious about shooting ARA or IR50 I will suggest using a rest. My friends and I shoot off bi-pods, basically because we shoot 25-30 local non sanctioned matches a year, that require the use of bi-pods and we go to only a few sanctioned matches during the...

    Voodoo Rifle Accuracy

ARA or IR50 have no rules against using mag feed rifles. As a matter of fact, IR50 Sporter class it's mandatory for the rifle to have a mag, but you don't have to use it.

Shout out to any of the men that I used to shoot IR50/50 and RBA with.

Hi Kent, glad to see you posting again. I never shot with you, but I am still shooting that Falcon you built. When I got my game face on, it does its thing. I'm sure this is not what you had in mind when you built it. Frist time I ever shot it. No rest or bi-pod, just sitting on a 6x6...

Which Scope for Benchrest Under 500.00

If you raise your sights a little ( no pun intended ) This would be all the scope you would ever need in BR. https://outdoors.natchezss.com/bestsellers/Weaver-46x

    Falcon actions!

I got your PM, but I am not sure the reply was sent. To answer your question, yes I do. Its a good solid action, works as good as any available. I actually considered buying the one your getting, but I wanted to see it first. Just could not get the time to go look at it. Glad you got it bought...

Who builds custom benchrest rimfire rifles?

Ron, You may want to check this one out. http://benchrest.com/class/index.php?a=2&b=12905 It's about 100 miles from you. I'm sure Tad would let you test drive it. If that one is not to your liking, lots of serious shooters build a new one or three every year and about always have one or two for...

    Tuners!!!!

Sorry, but you brought it up Most likely it would be better to just get up from the bench and go get another rifle, come back to the bench and start over. That's how the pros do it. Right Tony? LOL and no, it did NOT bother me at all. BTW Kenny S. has a copyright on the Jack in the...

    Eley Club .22 LR

Try Good Shooting Sports 610.00 per case = .122 per round or 6.25 per box = .125 per round https://goodshootinginc.com/rimfire-ammuntion/eley-ammunition/eley-club-target/781/ Usually on case orders the shipping is free, but don't quote me on that.

    250-25x

IR 250-25X targets don't happen often, actually they are RARE. But on 4-20-2019 there were two shot. Congratulations to Bruce Hornstein at Piney Hill in Va. and James Garrett at Chickenfoot in Ga. Great shooting by two great competitors.

    Airing it out

Pete may be on to something, long term exposure seems to be causing hallucinations by some. That's just my observation however, really have no facts to back that up. On a serious note, Piney Hill is a much different place than it was when I started shooting there in 2013, its clean and well...

    New IR50/50 Matches

In total agreement 5.00 per card is CHEAP!! 12.50 per where I do most of my shooting, of course you have a chance of getting that and then some back. I don't have a hard time believing the rest either. Some are born that way and others evolve to it.

    Airing it out

Bruce, I know your passionate about your shooting, that's the reason you do so well and your someone to look up to in that respect and I do. Your correct, I do not view a Club Match the same as you do, basically all I have ever used club matches for, is to test ammo or some change I have made to...

    Scope choice for .22 BR

A differnet approach If your newly acquired 1813 has iron sights and given that the target has a lot of black, I would give those a go. Anschutz has really great iron ( peep ) sights. Once you get a iris that fits the target correctly, they can be more accurate than a scope. There are even...

    Looking for Advice!

That is the best thing to do. Most likely someone will let her try out a REAL benchrest rig. You can compete with basically any .22, but if you want to keep her interest, it will have to be with something competitive. Anyone there will steer you in the right direction. Ask Renae, she is a...

Rimfire for 10 year old grandson

You will come out better using the Remington 40X, even it the initial cost is slightly more. There are more options available for the 40X ( triggers, scope mounts, stocks....) and easier to come by. Fact is, they shoot pretty well as-is, then you can make upgrades as the youngster gets better at...

    The Falcon action??

Best non PAS action available That's according to Mr. Calfee. I have one that does pretty good, I bought mine slightly used. It is one of the later models, 6 OC FP, 3 grove Benchmark, Stith toothpick maple stock, Harrell tuner, CT36 Weaver. I made a few changes to it, shortened the barrel to...

    Attack of the 40X

There is a reason for most using a 40X, easiest factory rifle to modify. Upgrade triggers, barrels, stocks.......... or they just cannot afford a Winchester 52D. Seriously however, it sounds like its an unlimited type of match, your CZ is not in the same league with any 40X, much less one that...
