You've come a long way in that regard but some things are harder to learn than others. ;)

2023 NBRSA Short Range Score Nationals

Yeah, I don't understand the logic of anyone calling it handicapping. If so, all group shooting is handicapped too. They could stop the handicapping in group if they used the same reticle for all calibers and just subtract .220ish for all calibers. How would that go over with everybody? It's the...

    Front rest

Rodzilla Raptor... This is another premium option for a front rest. It's the best I've had my hands on, IMHO. It uses a different coax mechanism. I made up my mind to buy one when I saw how it was engineered vs the others. I haven't had my hands on the new X models from Seb but it looks like he...

    Primers

You can't take it with you and you can't shoot without components, either. I don't think anything is coming down in price significantly, any time soon, if ever. Just buy what you need and enjoy it. A boat still costs a lot more!

    Can anyone here use Quickload??

The case is only part of the equation... Have you calculated hoop stress and how much the actual bbl and other components stretch under that much pressure? Yes, keeping it contained in the weakest link is paramount but unless you KNOW those numbers, it seems pretty sketchy. Keep em in the ten...

    Gifted boxes of reloading supplies!

powder and primers I assume you're looking to sell these items? I'd like to buy the t322 powder and maybe a couple of other items but hopefully you're aware of the regulations on shipping powder and primers. Many times, people get items like this that can't readily be shipped by going to...

Front and Rear bags for Sporter Class

I agree about fill being very important and it just takes a little fooling with. I have 2 SEB Bigfoot bags with angled ears and love them, and one with straight ears... but the Lenzi does look nice and they appear to be of high quality. Some is personal preference. I prefer my gun to be on the...

Turbo V-3 Upgrade --- Hot Off the Press

Top fuel and really high rpm engines, even Nascar, with sustained but lower rpm... have suffered from valve spring failure related to harmonics for a long time. Anthony might be on to something. I'm not sure it's as much the "shock" you mention but still, maybe. I won't dismiss it as a...

I agree with all of that but it leaves me with one question....How does having a tuner on the end of the bbl change any of it? It's a tuning tool. Use it but don't overthink every tiny aspect. Did we ever ask ourselves how much the bbl grew when we adjusted our powder measure to maintain tune...

    Jump

Sure it does. It's a constant minus the very small change that temp makes on steel. In use, this change is inconsequential to tuning. If temp changes that much, it has a larger affect on powder than the tiny affect on ss, so any change there gets lost in the noise of far more significant change...

We're on completely opposite ends of the spectrum on this, logically. Virtually every bbl I've ever seen, that area is precisely where erosion and fire cracking begin. That's why I like testing stuff though...so I know for sure or to my own satisfaction, the result of changes. Another example...

Pretty certain you and Al are talking the same thing. That's why he mentioned earlier that the plug gauge needs to be very close to chamber neck diameter, so that it hits as close as possible to the end of the neck/chamber where it's still full diameter. I guess you could consider that 45°...

    22-250

Great little round and they can shoot quite well. I had a(1) honest .250 moa 22-250 that got me hooked on benchrest. If you can get it to there, I'd say that's about as good as you should expect from it. Mine had a Shilen Select Match HV bbl on it, too. You can probably expect a few little bitty...

    30BR FreeBore

Just checking. It's best if it measures very near neck diameter but it sounds like it's plenty sufficient. Here's one by sinclair but yours sounds good too. I usually make my own from brass or aluminum, just under neck diameter and left basically sharp. As you can see from the thread I linked...

Those numbers are plausible for some reamers. Can you explain how you got the 1.567 dimension from your chamber? That's longer than is typical but not impossible. Here's an excellent thread, by Randy himself https://benchrest.com/showthread.php?97838-The-so-called-Robinet-30-BR-reamer-exposed!
